Why should keyboard players have all the fun?

If you’re like me, you’re a guitarist that thinks that MIDI is a mixed blessing. Tracking glitches, modified playing style, and an overall feeling that MIDI is just too much of a hassle.

Over the years, guitarists have struggled while keyboard players have flourished with the world of MIDI.

While guitarists have certainly been able to succeed with MIDI over the years, it’s been error-prone and counter-intuitive.

Not to mention the expensive equipment you’d have to install or purchase – so-called “hex pickups”, MIDI converter boxes or dedicated MIDI Guitar synth systems.

But no more! A bright, innovative, and new company from Sweden has changed all that.

And if you threw up your hands in frustration over MIDI Guitar before, now is the time to download this software and reconsider!

MiGiC is audio software that converts your electric guitar to MIDI with minimum latency and great accuracy.

You read that correctly – your electric guitar with no special pickups, cables, or converter boxes.

MiGIC is packed with powerful features that will open up a new world of possibilities for musicians performing live or working in the studio.

You can configure the Guitar-to-MIDI conversion to fit your style of playing via the modern GUI included with the software.

And check out this awesome demo of the software below:

MiGiC is the result of a great passion for guitar playing combined with top of the line engineering by the founder, Philip Karlsson.

Back in 2014 the development started out based on several of Philip’s hobby projects. In 2016 the project took the next step, resulting in a commercial product.

The plug-in MiGiC, that transforms guitar to MIDI with extremely low latency, has been released in two steps:

  • MiGiC 1.0 in January 2017 and
  • MiGiC Evo in June 2018.

MiGIC is a music-loving and tech-driven startup which cooperates with the consultant company Ictech based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

I’m truly excited about this software. MIDI opens up a world of millions of sounds and infinite song ideas.
